Forging design is the first step in product processing technology design. All the results of forging design are described in the drawings. Forging drawings are the main basis for compiling forging processes and designing forging dies or gauges.

Forging drawings should meet the following requirements:

1. The part drawings put forward the requirements of the flow channel, non-processed surface, mechanical properties, internal organization, etc. of the forging.

2. Forgings should have good processability.

3. When the results of forging design are directly related to the subsequent processing method, a comprehensive analysis must be conducted from the aspects of technology, economy and management coordination to provide good conditions for subsequent processing.

4. The selection of forging manufacturing process should first be technically and economically justified.
