Before forging, forgings need to go through a process to inspect the quality of their raw materials. To ensure that the raw materials have no quality problems before entering the next process, let's take a look at its requirements.
General requirements for forging raw materials
1. The chemical composition of forging raw materials meets the requirements.
2. The production processes such as smelting, casting, rolling, forging, and cleaning meet the requirements.
3. The surface quality of forging raw materials meets the requirements, without scratches, oxide scales, folds, cracks and other defects (or the degree of defects is within the allowable range). Defects should be removed, and sometimes the surface needs to be completely peeled off.
4. The organizational state of forging raw materials meets the requirements, without uneven organization, overheated organization, slag inclusions, looseness, pores, white spots and other internal defects.
