In recent years, China's heavy equipment manufacturing industry has recovered, and there is a strong demand for large castings and forgings, but due to insufficient manufacturing capacity and backward technology, there is a shortage of supply.
According to reports, the demand for major technical equipment in various industries in China has continued to increase, which has led to a rapid expansion of the market size of large castings and forgings.
Wang Baozhong, chairman of China First Heavy Casting and Forging Company, introduced that five years ago, the company's annual output value was less than 1 billion yuan, but now it has exceeded 10 billion yuan. The current production tasks are already very heavy, but due to limited production capacity, some domestic and foreign orders dare not be taken on and can only be handed over to foreign competitors.
In addition, China has not yet mastered the manufacturing technology of large castings and forgings that represents a high level. Foreign countries have imposed a technical blockade on China and cannot provide finished forgings, resulting in serious delays in some existing power station projects in China.
Industry insiders pointed out that Chinese companies should carry out large-scale manufacturing equipment technology transformation to comprehensively improve manufacturing capabilities and production efficiency. At the same time, due to the complex shapes and multiple processes of large castings and forgings, the joint efforts of experts in various fields are required. The state should take the lead in forming a research and development team to form a joint force to break through the technical bottleneck of large castings and forgings.
