The structural process design principle of free forgings is: under the premise of meeting the performance requirements, the shape of the forging should be as simple and easy to forge as possible. In actual operation, the following points should be avoided:
1. Avoid forging forgings with conical or inclined structures. Special tools need to be manufactured, and the forming of forgings is also difficult, which makes the process complicated and inconvenient to operate, affecting the efficiency of equipment use, so it should be avoided as much as possible.
2. The intersection of geometric bodies should avoid forming spatial curves, otherwise it is not easy to forge; the intersection is a plane intersection, which can eliminate the spatial curve and make forging easier.
3. Avoid strengthening ribs, bosses, I-shaped, elliptical or other irregular sections and shapes. Otherwise, it is difficult to obtain these shapes using the free forging method. If special tools or processes are used for production, production efficiency will be reduced and product costs will increase.
In order to avoid a sharp change in the cross-sectional area of the forging or the complexity of the shape, it can be designed as a combination of several simple parts. After the simple parts are forged, they are formed into an integral part through welding or mechanical connection.
